Deerhunter est un groupe très recommandable, aux amis très recommandables (tournées partagées et amitié véritable avec liars, no age, ex models, barr, electrelane, black lips, et des gens un peu moins intéressants comme grizzly bear ou yeah yeah yeahs).

Quand on regarde leur tournée européenne (festivals classieux, dates avec animal collective, public enemy, portishead (!), nine inch nails (!!) ou même Jay Z (!!!!!!!!!)), on se dit qu'on a décidément bien de la chance de les recevoir au salon de Grnd Gerland. Nous irons déposer des offrandes substantielles aux dieux des Day-off et des Evènements Improbables.






High places est un duo dont on ne sait pas grand chose, à part qu'ils viennent de brooklyn, aiment la folk primitive, existent depuis pas trop longtemps, ne sont pas en couple mais juste "les meilleurs potes", et que la fille dégage un charme timide qui doit retenir l'attention de nombreux spectateurs, qu'ils aiment ou non leur musique. A tous les coups, ils sont vegan (vérification faite, ils sont VRAIMENT vegan).

En tout cas, ils sont résumables musicalement par une addition qui ressemble au fly d'un concert aussi impossible que génial.

Martin Denny ("inventeur de l'exotica", un truc qui se joue avec des marimbas ou je ne sais trop quoi ; le tout déployé au bord de la piscine d'un hotel hawaïen où l'on consomme des cocktails extravagants. RIP depuis 2005)

Comme je suis pressé et paresseux, je recopie un petit texte sur Six Organs of Admittance (guitariste de Will Oldham/Bonnie Prince Billy, Comets on fire, Current 93...). Oui, c'est en anglais.

Six Organs of Admittance is basically just one man (but what a man!) - Ben Chasny, along with whomever he ropes in for recording or for shows. This man-band started in 1997 when Ben self- released his first LP in an edition of 400, little dreaming that one day Six Organs of Admittance would sell 37 times as many records. It was just something that was destined to happen - but that was the beginning of the happening. Over the years, Six Organs of Admittance has had many releases on a variety of labels, most notably Holy Mountain. During this time, Six Organs of Admittance became one of the most infulential sounds in the free world. In 2005, Ben found a home at Drag City and released the landmark album, School of the Flower. Free jazz ninja drum master Chris Corsano joined Ben and the results were a perfect blend of melody, out-folk, minimalism and noise, getting much critical applause and ending up on year-end best-of-the-year lists by magazines such as Mojo, Wire, and Magnet. 2006 sees the release of the best Six Organs release yet. The Sun Awakens features some of the most feedback-drenched, dark, cult-chanting, completely beautiful music ever released by the band. The everlasting goal of expansion - any kind of expansion you can imagine - has been tapped once again by the living entity known as Six Organs of Admittance.
